Field Trip: Working on the Capitol Complex construction project is a once-in-a lifetime engineering assignment. Last week, TFC hosted a structural engineering class from the University of Texas on a field trip to the excavation site. Students got the rare opportunity to see an active excavation site and discuss the structural design components of building this mammoth engineering feat with project engineers. The UT kids even got an extra geology lesson when their guide found pyrite – “fool’s gold”.
