There is less traffic in the Capitol Complex since the pandemic “stay at home” orders were issued last month. Almost 90% of state employees are working from home. Reopening the State of Texas

Last week Governor Abbott announced the “Open Texas” initiative and which specific types of businesses could reopen if they followed specific health guidelines and wanted to resume business now. The Texas Department of State Health Services has published recommended health safety protocols for businesses by industry, as well as for individuals, customers, and employees returning to work. Parking Updates May 11, 2020

Garage E – Temporary Closure TFC will be closing Garage E (1604 Colorado St.) on Thursday, May 14 through Sunday, May 17, for power washing and restriping. The first floor will have a change in the traffic pattern once the cleaning and restriping is complete. Vehicles wanting to exit the garage on Lavaca Street will now have access without going against traffic. Street closures: Brazos Street: Brazos from MLK Blvd. to 18th Street is closed to through traffic. The intersection of Brazos Street and 18th Street is closed. Access the W.B. Travis Building and Garage R from 17th Street. Access the ERS visitor parking lot a from San Jacinto and turn right on 18th Street and exit the visitor parking lot by turning right on Brazos.

Pedestrian Update May 11, 2020

Walking Routes Look for red pedestrian signs along sidewalks in the Capitol Complex. The six foot A-frame signs have been refreshed with updated maps and a QR code for easier access to the campus map. Use your smart phone to scan the QR code and open a pdf of the Capitol Complex map you can take along with you.
