George H.W. Bush State Office Building 1801 Congress – (Package 4)

Our flagship building is now open for business. Twenty-one State Agencies currently reside in this building, as well as the Texas Lottery Commission Claim center and studio. The new Lottery Claim Center is located on the corner of Brazos and 18th Street and is now open weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The new building tenants include: Commission on State Emergency Communications Department of Public Safety Executive Council of Physical Therapy & Occupational Therapy Examiners Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council Texas Board of Chiropractic [...]

Barbara Jordan State Office Building 1601 Congress – (Package 5)

  This is one of the most beautiful buildings in the TFC portfolio, and the new home of the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) and the Capitol Complex Child Care Center. It is also the home of the Capitol Complex Conference Center. State Agencies can now begin reserving conference rooms at the center. Texas Capitol Mall and Parking Garage 18th and 16th Street blocks – (Package 6)

The Texas Capitol Mall runs from MLK Blvd to 16th Street. Each block is considered a project area. Section A is the most northern section of the Texas Mall near the Bob Bullock Museum. This section is almost complete. The grass lawn is in place and the sidewalks across the mall are complete. We’ve Come a Long Way

The Texas Facilities Commission has been working on the transformation of the Capitol Complex since 2010 when it first identified approximately twenty-one acres of under-developed land north of 15th Street. From there, the Capitol Complex Master Plan took several years to develop and was finally approved in 2016. The official groundbreaking ceremony for Phase I of the Capitol Complex took place September 28, 2017. Today, our flagship building, the George HW Bush State Office Building sits on this site.

George H.W. Bush State Office Building – 1801 Congress – (Package 4)

Although our flagship building is still under construction, several floors are complete, and tenants have moved into their office suites. Every few weeks, a new set of State agencies will move in, with all floors occupied by late September. The building is only open to existing Tenants. This beautiful building will be the new home of the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) and the Capitol Complex Child Care Center. The lobby of the Jordan building will feature a brilliant white glass wall with an etched timeline of the Capitol Complex, warm-toned wood paneling, and of course a granite marker. Texas Mall and Parking Garage – 18th and 16th Street blocks – (Package 6)

The Texas Mall is taking shape. Construction crews are laying sidewalks and pavers to form the pedestrian path from MLK Blvd. to 16th Street. The northern section of the Texas Mall near the Bob Bullock Museum is well underway.
