Holiday Power Shut Down

Holiday Power Shut Down

Stephen F. Austin Building Electrical Utility Upgrades

On Wednesday, November 25 at noon, the electrical power to the Stephen F. Austin Building will be shut down. Austin Electric crews and Texas Facility Commission contractors and staff will be switching over from the old power supply systems to a totally new electrical vault with state-of-the-art technology. This new electrical system has been designed to support the new Central Utility Plant (Phase I) and the future power demands of Phases II and III of the Capitol Complex.

This power shutdown also affects the cooling system for the Lyndon B. Johnson and William B. Travis buildings, however, the electricity to these buildings will not be affected by this power outage. This important work will be completed by Sunday, November 29. (General Contractor: JE Dunn Construction)

It is highly recommended that State Employees avoid these buildings during the holiday weekend.
