Traffic Pattern Alert – Two way traffic coming soon on 17th and 18th Streets between San Jacinto and Trinity

Happening this week:

17th Street & San Jacinto – On Wednesday, June 26, the City of Austin will change the traffic direction of 17th Street from San Jacinto to Trinity from a one-way street to a two-way street.

In preparation for this traffic pattern change, the parking meters on the south curb of 17th Street (adjacent to Scholz Garten) will be bagged. The angled parking along this curb will be converted to parallel parking spaces. Look for new parking meters and parking stripes.

18th Street & Lavaca – Look for the ‘No Parking” sign at the 1800 block of Lavaca. The parking space on the corner has been removed to allow better access to the alley.

18th Street & San Jacinto – On Wednesday, June 26, the City of Austin will also convert the back-in angled parking on the south curb of 18th Street, from San Jacinto to Trinity, to parallel parking. This block will change to two-way traffic soon.

ALERT for Garage R – The Brazos entrance and exit to Garage R will be closed from Saturday, June 22 through July 15 due to utility construction in the street.
