Parking Update August 2, 2019
- ALERT State Parking Lot 3 – (17th & Colorado) will close on Monday, August 5 and fleet vehicles have been reassigned parking space in State Parking Lot 19.
- ALERT Garage R – The Brazos entrance and exit to Garage R is now open with access only from 17th Street. The first floor down ramp has 17 new 30-minute public visitor parking spaces. Only designated spaces are open to the public on a first-come first-serve basis. DPS will ticket any vehicles exceeding the time limit.
- ALERT State Parking Lot 19 – (Colorado & MLK) will reopen to state employees on Monday, August 5. There will be four handicap parking spaces, assigned parking spaces for oversized fleet vehicles from Lot 3 and 16 public metered spaces for visitors, and the remaining parking spaces will be for State employees with permits.
- New State Lot 9 – The new parking lot was completed behind the LBJ Building at the circular drive located at 16th Street adjacent to the loading docks. Parking is reserved, however there are two accessible spaces available for the public.

- 2 hours FREE parking is provided.
- State Parking Garage R – 1706 San Jacinto Blvd., Austin, TX 78701
- 30-minute FREE visitor parking on first floor down ramp (only 17 spaces are available on a first-come-first serve basis. Enter garage on Brazos Street (via 17th Street). ALL OTHER PARKING IN THIS GARAGE IS RESERVED FOR STATE EMPLOYEES ONLY.

- Visitors to the William B. Travis Building should use the UT Brazos parking garage at 210 E. MLK Blvd.
- Visitors to the Stephen F. Austin Building should park at the Bullock Museum.
- Visitors to the Capitol or to buildings on the East side of the Capitol Complex, should park at the Capitol Visitors Parking Garage at 1201 San Jacinto Blvd., Austin, TX 78701 or at UT Health Center Garage at 1601 Trinity Street, Austin, TX 78701.
- State Employee Parking – Garages E and J are full. Please Use Garage A, B, G or Q instead.
