Tailgate Traffic and Parking Updates August 29, 2019
Closed: 17th Street between San Jacinto and Trinity Street (North of Scholz Garten) will be closed on all UT Football home game days.
Traffic direction change: Trinity Street between MLK Blvd. and 15th Street will become southbound traffic ONLY, beginning one hour after kick-off.
Closed Garages: State Garage B, R, and Q are reserved for UT Alumni Parking Permit holders only. All spaces in State Garage B, R, and Q are temporarily leased to the University of Texas for home games. All vehicles utilizing parking in these garages must have a UT-issued Alumni Parking Permit. The parking permit must have the appropriate color and game designation.
Neither State employees nor the general public are permitted to utilize these State garages without the proper UT issued Alumni Parking Permit.
Garage B: 1511 San Jacinto Blvd.
Garage Q: 1610 San Jacinto Blvd.
Garage R: 1706 San Jacinto Blvd.
Off-Campus Parking Option – State Lot 26: 701 W. 51st Street (at the JH Winters Building) will be available for PAID public parking on a first come, first served basis, for standard vehicles, RVs, and oversized vehicles from 6:00 p.m. the day before a UT Football home game to 12 noon the day after the game. NOTE: This location does not have portable toilets, water or utility hook-ups.
Personal Vehicles (State Employees): All State employees must remove their personal vehicles from ALL surface parking lots in the Capitol Complex area, by 6:00 p.m. each Friday before a UT Football home game.
Employee Parking (State Employees): State employees are permitted one FREE parking space in either State garage A,E, F, G, J or Lot 26 on a first come, first serve basis. State employees are required to show the parking attendant a State of Texas employee ID for a FREE parking permit. (DPS parking stickers on vehicles are not enough for free entry.)
